Ring in the new!
December 31st, 2009
My greatest New Year’s wish for everyone is more than a handful of truly happy, dare I say ecstatic moments to experience and remember fondly in the coming year. And a reminder to take lots and lots of photos to help you remember them. We all need reminders of what’s really most important in life, especially when times get tough. Here’s to a brighter and sweeter 2010!
And a very special thanks to all of my clients old and new who made 2009 so very enjoyable. Thanks for keeping my shutter clicking to capture the life and love we all share.
Here comes baby new year

There’s a basket full of new baby goodies for the first little bundle the stork drops off at Mountainside tomorrow (including a complimentary newborn portrait session from yours truly).
And you can also get in on the fun at Montclair’s First Night by entering the Barista Kids “Guess the 1st New Year’s Baby” contest with your prediction of the gender, weight and length of Baristaville’s 1st 2010 baby. Enter before the ball drops to get your chance at some really excellent prizes!
Girls with the most cake
December 20th, 2009There are certain rites of passage when you turn the “Big One” which include silly party hats, a first-ever slice of cake (preferably chocolate!) and a massive clean-up. It was no exception for these seriously sweet (even before the cake) twin sisters. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing these little pixies since they were three months old, and I’m always in awe of how fast and furious babies become infants become toddlers. It’s like you blink and they’re standing up and asking you for more juice, please.
I wish these little big girls many, many happy returns, and a second year full of wonder and joy and all good things. So glad I thought to get the family portrait pile-up *before* the cake was served — ha! Thanks again to our local interior design guru and hip-kids style maven Nancy Breslin and her lovely family for allowing me to catch all the fun and excitement that a first birthday brings!

The cards are in the mail!
December 10th, 2009I was so pleased to see my images featured on one of my client’s personally-designed holiday cards, I just had to post it. She’s so creative, in fact, that she also created her own gift certificates for portrait prints from our session to give to her extended family for the holidays! I think that’s a perfect way to share the love, don’t you think?! Thanks again for a super session, and I hope the portraits are a big hit and a nice surprise for all the recipients. Happy holidays!

Big sister, little sister
December 8th, 2009Sometimes things just click, you know what I mean? And I felt the “click” with these sisters before I even snapped my first image. What terrifically sweet and happy girls who know how to have a heck of a lot of fun!

I was excited to see the beautiful light we had indoors and out, and a very warm fall day to boot. I really love that we could mix up locations to tell the whole story of Miss C. and Miss M.

Round and around and around she goes…where she stops…nobody knows…

…until big sister finally catches up with her for a tickle…

…and a quiet moment.

Then it’s outside to make some holiday wishes with mom’s mums (thanks mom!). A very big thanks again to these sweet girls, mom and dad for a whirlwind session. I could have kept going all day : ) So looking forward to our next session…can’t wait!
Winning smiles
December 8th, 2009Oh, this family’s not only the bee’s knees, they’re also the winners of my 2009 Barista Kids portrait session giveaway! Congratulations again, and so glad you could use your prize for some fun fall family portraits! (Can you say that really fast three times?!)

You all must know by now how I do love twin toddler energy, having a set of toddler boys at my house. I personally think it’s fascinating to see just how fast they can move in opposite directions : )

Add some pumpkins, bales of hay, and let the fun begin!

Many thanks to mom, dad and all the boys for a great shoot on a chilly fall afternoon. After all the wait, I think we scored on the fall foliage, so I’m glad you’re so happy with the results…me, too!
Another big thanks to Barista Kids for hosting this portrait session giveaway!
Happy holiday sessions
December 8th, 2009Okay–catching up on previews, which are now more like beloved re-runs as these families have already gotten the whole kit and caboodle. But I wanted to share these with you as well. Thanks to all the families for making this holiday season so very fantastic. Wishing you all a very happy holiday season, and a new year beyond your wildest dreams!
I think there are never enough chubby cheeks to go around, and this brother-sister twin team has some of the best I’ve ever seen! Just loved that we had such a beautiful fall afternoon to catch all the family fun. Thanks to mom and dad for being flexible around all that rainy fall weather. Special thanks to Grandpa F. for all of your key jingling holiday spirit that made this family shine!

Lots to celebrate during this session (below) — a double birthday weekend for this brother and sister who aren’t twins (imagine that!) and a family holiday portrait session to boot. I thoroughly enjoyed capturing this very handsome family for all these special occasions rolled up into one. Especially love Miss M.’s effortless smile (takes after her mom) and please tell Mr. J. I’m so glad he “didn’t” smile…just kidding…gotcha! And I was thrilled to get a truly shining portrait of mom and dad together–when’s the last time you and yours had the pleasure?! Beautiful day, beautiful family–so happy I got to know you all better on our walk to the park!

And these three sibling superheroes (below) possessed amazing powers, and I basked in the glow of all that energy! How could I not have fun chasing super kids around their backyard? It’s just not possible I say!!! Thanks to mom and dad for entrusting me to capture all this wonderful personality, and for letting us have the run of the yard for our session. Super fun!
