Got multiples?

Tuesday, February 9th, 2010

Well, you know who you are, and this post’s for you! I’d like to share with you a project I’ve been very excited to work on with another twin mom, Robyn Spritzer, and her team of highly motivated women (many with multiples of their own at home). Their company is Greater Than One Kids and…you guessed it…they’ve been hard at work thinking up new ideas that would help make parents of multiples’ lives a little (or a LOT) easier. I for one am a big fan of innovation that supports family life. And coming from a twin mom (me), I can tell you that life with multiples has its own challenging parenting problems to solve.

It goes without saying—but I’ll say it anyway—I had an absolute blast shooting the promotional images for their product roll-out, and truly enjoyed working with the twins and triplets and their nerves-of-steel moms. Just how do they do it? Well, Greater Than One Kids has their eye on helping parents manage multiples just like child’s play, and who could resist that? So keep your eye on their site for the Spring 2010 announcement—coming soon!

Something to celebrate

Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010

I’m tickled pink that Sara Hicks at Party Perfect has featured another celebration (We’re number one!) that I had the very good fortune to photograph. I absolutely LOVE a party. You never need a reason to throw one, but my favorite has to be a birthday bash. There’s an expectation of decorations, whacky hats, silly games, a possible “surprise” element and, of course, cake. And don’t forget the big wish! This universal celebration of life is something we can all appreciate. What kind of party are you planning? Don’t forget your camera!

The cards are in the mail!

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I was so pleased to see my images featured on one of my client’s personally-designed holiday cards, I just had to post it. She’s so creative, in fact, that she also created her own gift certificates for portrait prints from our session to give to her extended family for the holidays! I think that’s a perfect way to share the love, don’t you think?! Thanks again for a super session, and I hope the portraits are a big hit and a nice surprise for all the recipients. Happy holidays!

Postcards from Kidsville: castles and sailboats and crabs…oh, my!

Friday, August 7th, 2009

It was a wonderful combination of heavenly smells, sweet all-natural dough and luscious whipped icing at yesterday’s 2:00pm children’s cookie decorating class at Le Baker’s Dozen in Upper Montclair. I so wanted to be sitting at the table sprinkling shiny non pareil decorations (a young cookie decorator kindly reminded me of the name) along a blue sailboat cookie’s mast.

The girls in the class (hey boys, you don’t know what you missed!) were hands-down the most creative and focused cookie decorators I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. I envied them their pirate booty of cookies that would last me, well heck, at least an hour. I kick myself for not taking bakery owner Thérèse’s offer to pack a cookie for the road. What on earth was I thinking?!? Well, that just gives me the perfect excuse to go back again…and again…and again. Yum!

Sweet thanks to Barista Kids for letting you lick the frosting from this Postcard from Kidsville!
