I *love* to be in on a surprise, and the portraits from this photo session are a gift for a special dad (who I hope is not reading this right now, and if so, please act surprised!). These two little birdies were more than happy to fill me in on all the details so my lips are sealed from here on out. I will say that this got me to thinking about that Brady Bunch episode where the kids sneak out of the house to have a picture taken for an anniversary gift for their mom. Well, several Brady-style hijinx later, that story presented a well-intentioned moral about wearing your glasses, and one of those “it can only happen on television” happy endings, including a thrilled mom.
Okay, some people really don’t like to be surprised, but I sure do (hint, hint). And I hope this is one of the nicest surprises that this dad could imagine—portraits of his son and daughter at this time and place in their family history. I think these new images are ripe for the family photo wall. Thanks so much to mom, C. and C. for helping to make this a perfect gift.

These pictures are perfect! I left Chloe and Christopher on Tuesday morning, and these are as I remember them. That hair, for Chloe, and a burgeoning maturity of face. Christopher, full of life and eyes that spell LIFE. Great photos from an appreciative grandmother.
